Should I put my meta tags on just my main/home page or on every page on my site? Should I repeat the same tags on each page or modify them?

Search engines which spider or crawl through your entire website will attempt to index all pages within their database. Typically, search engines which do spider your site will also read your meta tags. For this reason, we strongly suggest using meta tags on all pages which will be indexed by search engines. In addition, it is to your advantage to change some of the meta tags located on each page depending on the different content/services which each of your pages cover.

If you do repeat meta tags on your webpages, it is always best to use different titles on each page, otherwise to a search engine, every page on your site will appear identical. Using a unique title for every page will help distinguish the page to page differences to search engines. Below, we make recommendations on how we deploy meta tags and the frequency of repetition that we ourselves used on website

  • Put meta tags on all pages which will be indexed by a search engine. Do not lose potential customers because they could not find your site in search engines.

  • If you have the time, make a unique set of meta tags on each page. The more unique your meta tags, the higher likelihood a user will find your page.

  • If you don't want to customize every page with a unique set of tags, break off pages which are similiar into sections. Within each section use the same meta tags.

  • Use unique titles. Every page on your site is different and the best way to differentiate the difference according to search engines in through the title tag. Make sure every page on your site has a title representing the data on your page.
