Website Submission Tips
Using Anchor and Title Text effectively - If you want your website to rank well on a particular phrase then using anchor text is vital. If your title is a link then you can also use "title text" which appears when users mouse over the link. Title text should be used to describe the content being linked to.
Don't use frames - Most search engines simply cannot index a frames page. Framed sites place content within frame sets, rather than directly in the code of the page, search engine spiders have a much more difficult time reading and indexing the content of a framed web site.
Search engine spiders are programmed to read text only within your webpage's, therefore with a typical framed site, there is no body text for the search engine's spider to index, because the pages content is all on another page.
Make Site Map - Site maps are at the core of SEO design. They normally link from your homepage/index page and contain a link to all of your websites internal pages. This makes it very easy for the search engines to craw your site and index all of your pages. Site Map Should be linked to from every page on your site, especially your index page and use the keywords of the page you are linking to in the anchor text and it should also provide a link to every page of the site
Keep your site updated - Make sure that your site is up to date. No one likes to go to a page that never changes or that is very out of date. Make sure that the data in your page portrays the message that you want to send. Check the links on your site every now and again. Make sure the links are still active. Dead links are not only an inconvenience for the visitor, but can also negatively influence your rankings.
Links to other pages - We can't emphasize enough the importance of links. Both from your page to other pages, and from other pages to yours.
First consider links on your pages - When most search engine spiders see them, they consider your site more 'real'. It also gives the spiders a place to go. Make sure you link all of your website's important pages and also add links to other related sites. Using keywords in the link text itself is an important part of website optimization.
Links from other websites - Most search engines place a very heavy rating of importance on how many other sites in their index have links to your website. Think of it for a second. If you knew that a company was only linked to by one website, versus a company that was linked to by many relevant websites, which one would you consider more important? If you were a search engine, you would try to rank the more important ones first. A few links from related sites are worth more than a bunch from unrelated sites.
Increase visitors to your website - While getting listed for your favoured search term is one thing, getting the user to click on your particular link is another - helpful and well thought out Titles and Descriptions that reflect the content the user will see when arriving at your website benefits not only yourself but the user as well.
Consider banner ads - These are a popular method of promoting your Web site. They are the little (usually) rectangular graphics that you see near the top or bottom of some popular Web pages. If you click on them, they transport you to another Web site. You can make your own banners using one of the many "banner creating" companies. Most offer free banner making.
